In 2015, Korte & Luitjohan Contractors, Inc., was retained for a five-month project to remove and expand the Sales Office and Showroom for Tri Ford, Inc., a Ford dealership in Highland, Illinois. The dealership undertook the reconstruction to update its facility to the new branding look of Ford dealerships.

K&L worked with EWR & Associates to design the dealership renovation in accordance with FordLand’s requirements and specifications. The design-build renovation required significant demolition and reconstruction to be performed while the current operation of sales, management, and automobile repair services remained open. Detailed planning and coordination with Tri Ford, Inc. were essential to ensure completion of the project in the five-month schedule, which began June 15, 2015, and was completed by November 16, 2015.

Safety concerns required fencing and  securing a significant portion of the property. A trailer was positioned up front in a highly visible, user-friendly area for the sales staf f while a separate building with an available conference room provided temporary of fice space for the accounting and management teams. The automobile service and parts area was temporarily moved to the rear of the main shop. In order to provide a seamless transition, all temporary locations were retrofitted with phone lines, internet service, computers, HVAC, and restroom accommodations. Directional signs were strategically placed outside to control and direct customer traf fic patterns to their appropriate destinations. For the convenience of its customers, Tri Ford, Inc. of ten used golf carts to transport customers during the renovation.

All sales and management of fices were demolished and re-built, as well as the parts department and service counter. The main showroom floor now boasts a larger floor plan  with a 14-foot tall ceiling with floor-to-ceiling glass panes. The new customer service vehicle entry provides indoor drop-of f of cars for service and repairs. The parts mezzanine was renovated, and the service floor was resurfaced with an epoxy coating. Finally, K&L regraded and resurfaced the north entrance and driveway and installed a new storm water drainage system.
