Fresh Thyme Farmers Market

As part of an aggressive Midwest rollout of their fresh and healthy marketplace, Fresh Thyme saw that the City of Fishers, Indiana, was in need of a natural organic grocery store and decided to provide it.

The one-story farmers market building dimensions are approximately 218 feet deep by 152 feet wide. The parapet height is 26’5” to the top of the mansard roof at the building perimeter. The architectural features of the towers and gables are a maximum height of 35’8”.

The building is a load-bearing masonry structure with steel columns and deck. The foundation is spread footings, perimeter grade beams, and a 5-inch slab on grade. Building concrete includes standard 5-inch concrete slabs, freezer slabs, bollards, equipment pads, and interior concrete curbing.

The west facade consists of a heavy gauge metal stud framed entry vestibule with gabled towers on two corners. The other elevations include additional gable features patterned after the elements onthe west elevation, including a masonry wainscot, fiber cement lap siding andtrim, faux windows, shutters, bays, and masonry accents.

Standing seam metal canopies are included as well. Fixed aluminum windows and a storefront entry door are included at the west facade. The east and south elevations include split-faced CMU walls with shallow pilasters highlighted with decorative light fixtures.

The roof of the main structure is .045 mil mechanically fastened TPO membrane on 3-inches of polyiso insulation. Asphalt shingle roofing is used at the mansard roof perimeter and at all gables and towers. The north and west facades include standing seam metal canopies. The south elevation includes cedar timber architectural features at three seating areas.

Interior finishes include standard drywall assemblies, cooler walls and ceilings, stainless steel and galvanized steel panels, column covers and trim, barnwood, interior décor items and wall decals/murals, and integral features such as faux masonry, FRP wall covering, and stained concrete slabs.

One Rite-Hite RHM4000 dock leveler with bumpers and one Frommelt Eliminator II dock seal is included at the dock. Fire protection includes drops and heads as required for the grocery floor plan, including dry heads in the freezers.

Fresh Thyme includes many refrigerated cases and displays throughout. The refrigeration systems include roof mounted condensers, underslab refrigerant piping,and an Energy Management system.

A 1,500-gallon grease trap is included. Reverse osmosis and water softening systems are also included. This project includes many floor drains, trench drains, and other under slab plumbing items.

One Munter’s de-humidification unitand one range hood is included, as well as standard HVAC systems.

Electrical service consists of a 1,200A, 480/277 volt, 3-phase, 4-wire primary service. Standard LED lighting is included in the main grocery area, with decorative feature lighting throughout. An external Cam-Lock connection point is included.
