Founders Classical Academy Charter School

Responsive Education Solutions

Posted: March 31, 2021 | Projects

FCA Flower Mound is a public charter school, which means tuition is free and enrollment is determined by a lottery system until all the seats are filled. When demand at the original school overflowed, a new 42,000-square-foot facility was built to accommodate the growing need.

The new Founders Classical Academy (FCA) of Flower Mound is operated by ResponsiveEd, one of the largest non-profit charter school operators in the nation.

The new facility services more grade levels and more students at each grade level. This allows more families to pursue a classical academic environment with a focus on quality education. It’s perfect for those parents who don’t want to send their children to a public school, yet can’t afford a private school. The school even lists homework assignments on a Facebook page so parents can easily keep up with the curriculum. Classical schools take an approach to education characterized by a traditional liberal arts and sciences curriculum and pedagogy. Uniforms are required attire and academy standards are enforced.

The new 42,000-square-foot facility sits on 19 acres and houses kindergarten through twelfth grade.

As part of a Charter School Program grant from the U.S. Department of Education — shared with 14 other charter management organizations — ResponsiveEd charter schools will benefit from the almost $15 million for their expansion efforts, to be utilized over the next five years. These funds can be put to use to increase the enrollment of existing charter schools and create new charter schools based on a high-quality charter school model.

This new facility allows Founders Classical Academy (FCA) of Flower Mound to provide more students with a quality, academy-type education that will foster advanced learning, and possibly nurture and help create the scientists and leaders of tomorrow.
