Each issue of Design Cost Data includes actual projects and their cost to
build. Architects and general contractors nationwide submit all projects
featured in DCD.
Published since 1958, DCD’s philosophy of basing future construction costs on
actual construction put in place is now a national standard. DCD believes when
taking an actual project and applying up-to-date cost escalators and regional
modifiers you can forecast what it will cost to build today or tomorrow. DCD
maintains the largest database of actual projects for the industry, along with
current cost escalators and modifiers.
After publication all projects reside in the DCD Archives™ on DCD.COM. DCD
subscribers have access to over 1,300 projects of all types, cost factors
through 2016 and over 500 regional modifiers for preliminary estimating. Easy to
use, DCD subscribers simply select a project, change the date and location,
square footage, and hit Target and a new model is created. Subscribers can go
further and modify their estimate by adding, changing, or deleting cost
divisions. Click here for a demo on
how the DCD Archives works.
Design Cost Data is published 6 times a year and includes sq. ft. cost guides,
material cost trends, building analysis, projects, pertinent industry articles,
and more. DCD is the construction industry’s cost resource. Click here to
