The Bachelors' Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) is a lodge for non-commissioned
officers training at Camp Williams, a Utah National Guard training site
in northern Utah.
The site of the BEQ is on high and relatively flat ground, with
commanding views of the Wasatch Mountains to the East, and the foothills
of the Oquirrh Mountains to the West.
The BEQ is a three story "U" shaped building with an exterior courtyard.
Its structure is CMU and steel, with a masonry veneer enclosure and a
flat roof. The courtyard contains an exterior mechanical building. By
locating the mechanical equipment in a separate building, the height of
the building was reduced by 2 feet, a significant cost reduction. This
mechanical building is integrated into the architecture of the BEQ, and
provides shelter and gathering space in the courtyard.
There are 144 billets in the BEQ, with adjacent rooms sharing a
bathroom. Each single-occupant room has a queen bed, night stand, lounge
chair, desk with chair, refrigerator and microwave, flat screen
television, and vanity sink with counter space. The elbows of the "U" at
each level are indoor and outdoor terraces with seating.
