The new headquarters for Cancer Specialists of North Florida, Florida's
largest cancer practice was competed in May of 2013 by Sauer Inc. The
facility includes a lobby; multiple offices, including a pathologists
suite, an EMR suite, social workers suite, care manager's office, human
resources and accounting offices, and a large board room and conference
rooms; research storage, multiple large administrative areas, a
pharmacy, library, a data center, and a staff kitchen/break room.
The high security facility includes bullet resistant glass in the
pharmacy, a key fob access control system throughout the buildings and
The data center was designed to withstand 145 mph wind loads to resist
hurricane, missile impact and includes full redundancy for select
building systems. Key features include data and control rows, a Liebert
cooling system and an uninterrupted power supply system and generator.
Site work included new water and sanitary sewer piping, new primary
Jacksonville Electric Authority feeds to new electrical transformer,
asphalt parking and pavement and extensive landscaping.
The building was constructed of concrete slab on grade, CMU block
exterior walls, structural steel columns and roof steel bar joists,
aluminum storefront windows, and concrete pavers at the front and rear
