The Oktibbeha County Hospital Regional Medical Center (OCH) located in Starkville, Mississippi is a county-owned and operated facility that was founded over 35 years ago. Its mission is clear: provision of high quality health care to the people of the hospital's seven-county service area responding to changing community needs. Dean and Dean/Associates Architects, P.A. was commissioned with the task of helping Oktibbeha County Hospital fulfill this mission as its growth created the need for a major renovation
and expansion.

This 23.4 million dollar construction project consists of a new five-story 87,116 square feet addition, new parking garage and interior renovation to the existing Oktibbeha County Hospital. At the first floor level, the design features a new Main Entrance, Lobby, Gift Shop, Coffee Bar, Community Education facilities, and shell space for future expansion. The upper floors provide 52 new private Medical/Surgical Patient Rooms and a state-of-the-art Women's Center comprised of a Birthing Suite with eight Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR) rooms, two C-Section rooms/Recovery, three Triage Rooms/Observation Rooms, and new Nursery Suite to include a Well Baby Nursery and High Risk Nursery with Neo-Natal Intensive Care.

In addition, the project includes 30,263 square feet of renovations to existing patient bed floors. This renovation features enlargement and refurbishment of undersized and outdated patient rooms and baths into 30 new Medical/Surgical Patient Rooms/Baths which meet contemporary standards. Also a new six bed Intensive Care Unit, an ICU Waiting Area, and a Family Quiet Room were welcomed additions to this area. To further enhance this updated modern facility new entrance driveways and a 240-space parking structure were constructed.

Oktibbeha County Hospital has over 650 employees. In 2012 their new 96-bed facility was opened and today these employees continue to proudly serve the community and carry out the mission begun over 35 years ago.
