Awarded the AIA Northwest Florida 2011 Masonry Award in January 2012, the Additions to the Cobb Community Center better accommodate its users and the community.

The additions include two new multi-purpose spaces, a game room, fitness room and new kitchen. Renovations to the existing building included a new art room and library, along with some minor improvements to the building.

The patterned brick exterior walls are highlighted to express a playfulness and energetic sense of the building function: activities for all ages and a place for interaction and social gathering. The architect selected Palmetto Brick in the shades of Palmetto Red, Light Rose, and Dark Rose to create the pattern. In addition to the unique pattern on the exterior, the architect carried brick into the interior on the walls and desks.

The site was upgraded with additional parking and storm water retention. Other improvements included landscaping and a new playground, pavilion and basketball court to complete the addition and renovation.

The Cobb Community Center is an active recreational facility and is an attraction for not only the neighborhood but also the entire community.
