For over 30 years, family owned Kitchen Magic has designed, manufactured and installed beautiful, top-quality kitchens. Previously headquartered in Phillipsburg, N.J., they were located on several overcrowded floors, and desperately needed to expand. Having found a vacant building totaling 63,000 square feet near Nazareth, Penn., it gave them the ideal space for all their offices and manufacturing areas along with space for future growth all on one floor. They decided to move and renovate to suit all their needs.

Their time frame was quite aggressive with only a four month window of opportunity. Boyle Construction of Allentown however, met the challenge and finished the conversion on time and within budget. This included a brand new parking lot for approximately 80 employees.

A small inefficient second floor over the entrance was removed in favor of a high open ceiling area for the entrance showroom. Karndean International supplied the “hand hewn look” of the vinyl wood plank flooring, reminiscent of an old manufacturing facility, along with exposed spiral ductwork. A new EFIS entrance with lots of glass was added to immerse the showroom in plenty of natural daylight.

In the manufacturing area, the existing concrete floor was ground and polished, making post-shift “clean-up” an easy process. New energy efficient fluorescent light fixtures were installed throughout. Three new insulated overhead doors with dock seals were installed to streamline the shipping/receiving areas.

The office area, consisting of about 25% of the total space, contains corporate offices as well as a telemarketing area and a large sales meeting room. Soft, warm neutral tones of beige, reds and yellows provide a very conducive working environment.
