Evans Family Dental is a new office for an experienced Family Practice
and Cosmetic Dentist that has been providing services in Austin, Texas
since 1999. James “Bo” Evans, D.D.S. started his practice when he joined
a group of dentists providing services in west Austin. Dr. Evans decided
to begin his solo practice in 2009 and relocate to southwest Austin with
the help of Dental Architect, Fred Ballard and Interior Designer,
Elizabeth Clarke of Schneider Halls Design.
The project goal was to design an office that incorporated the latest
dental equipment and technology while also providing an office with the
aesthetics of a Texas Hill Country home. In addition to the 5
Operatories, the 2,354-square-foot office includes a
Sterilization/Dental Tray Prep, Dental Lab, Digital Panoramic
X-Ray/Processing Area and Mechanical Room that were carefully designed
to maximize the function and productivity of the office. Specially
selected finishes were used to create a comfortable environment while
still being able to function in a dental office.
The custom designed front desk looks and feels like a high end piece of
residential furniture on the Waiting Room side even with the mandatory
handicapped accessible counter incorporated into the face of the desk.
Environmentally conscious design selections such as the dental vacuum
being a dry vacuum, uses no water at all. The Shaw Commercial carpet is
produced from their Eco-Solution Nylon which is a Cradle to Cradle®
certified, recycled and recyclable nylon. Many of the recessed can
lights are LED fixtures which have significantly lower power consumption
and waste heat.
In September of 2009, Shropshire Construction began the interior
finish-out construction of the space and completed the project 73
calendar days later.
