Eastern’s Automotive, one of the regions largest used and new car dealerships, commissioned ADW to create a signature prototype that would give their buildings strong brand identity. Many of their dealerships are existing buildings and they were launching a strategic new dealership program, with Winchester, Virginia as their first roll out.
ADW, given an ±8,000 square foot program with sales center, automotive repair and parts area, established a clean, high tech feel for the prototype. Utilizing a tower element and Easterns' brand signage, ADW incorporated Easterns' standard large American flag. The flag is supported at an angle towards the main thoroughfare, by the entry tower’s structural steel. This composition creates a strong brand image from the surrounding road network. In addition, banner signs were integrated into the facade, much like shopping centers, to announce sales events.
The storefront system was specified in clear anodized aluminum and metal panels were integrated for a high tech feel. The base, sides and rear walls are ground face masonry with Eastern’s signature yellow logo color. The steel beams were also painted yellow to give the facade visual punch. The glazing system is Low E and sun shades were incorporated to mitigate solar exposure.
The bright and airy sales center features auto racing black and white checkerboard ceramic tile floors and exposed ceiling system/HVAC painted white (instead of the normal dark colors) to energize the buying experience. Neon lighting and modern systems furnishings and light color woods add to the vibrant interiors.
The manager’s kiosk is elevated with a commanding view of sales staff and is the fulcrum of the sales center. The remaining facility is designed to convert from used cars to a standard new car brand dealership, including repair and detailing bays as well as a parts department.
