As part of a constant, evolving improvement process that Hamilton County Park District of Cincinnati, Ohio continues to develop, the Winton Centre Addition mirrored the advancement of the Park District with an addition to their administrative office and ranger's headquarters.
The Hamilton County Park Rangers, the area's first CALEA certified law enforcement agency, operate out of a shared facility with the Park's administrative and educational departments. The goal of the project was to provide the Rangers with adequate facilities meeting projected needs and current law enforcement standards.
The design solution ultimately resulted in demolishing an inefficient portion of the existing building and constructing a 3,500 square foot expansion. The new facility is better organized and includes a dispatch area, a vehicle sally port and temporary holding facility, evidence processing and property storage areas, fitness and locker facilities, and other law enforcement office and support areas. The overall design of the new construction was kept in harmony with the existing rustic stone and cedar sided, one story building. The project also included minor renovations for selected areas within the rest of the facility.
