The new main post office in Front Royal, Virginia is the result of the efforts of the Design Build Team of Ricketts Construction and The Marshall Group. The Marshall Group is the Architect of Record.

The design is based on the current USPS design criteria to support a projected population in the year 2012 of 34,870, with 15,205 deliveries per day over 27 Routes and 2,256 post office boxes. The new post office replaces the old post office on an expanded site in the same location. The building contains 25,684 square feet housing the main lobby, box lobby, postal store, administrative space, and work room and support spaces.

The expanded site contains 2.56 acres. In addition to the new building, parking is provided for a total of 134 vehicles including employee, customer and official vehicles. Of this total 50 spaces are specifically set aside for customers.

The project team established a "Partnering" agreement at the outset which resulted in accomplishing the project within budget and on schedule. The building was occupied in October 2002 and has received compliments from the Postal Service and the community.
