The Design/Build delivery system was selected for this project due to the aggressive one year time line. This was necessary for the owner to be in operation in time to meet the motion picture industry's largest film release period, Thanksgiving.

Unique to this state-of-the-art, 18 screen theatre entertainment, office and retail complex in Grand Rapids, Michigan is the 300 seat IMAX Theatre which is the world's largest motion picture format produced on a gigantic 52 by 72 foot silver screen. 

The construction was conventional steel frame/masonry load bearing structural systems at the theatre areas and steel framed non-load bearing brick veneer walls at the two story retail and office areas. Aesthetic focal points include an exterior 60-foot high translucent panel beacon at the main lobby entryway and an interior skybridge walkway which connects retail and offices above the secondary lobby entryway. The complex is home to Jack Loews Theatres, Inc. new corporate headquarters. The total project included sitework and infrastructure for a $75 million 14.5 acre commercial development called Celebration! Village.
