Expanded Flooring Options for Educational Facilities

For over 35 years, educational facilities across the country have successfully used polymer flooring products in kitchens, bathrooms and locker rooms. Traditionally, architects, designers and facility managers have specified these products for their superior slip resistance, chemical resistance, durability and easy maintenance.

Today, however, seamless polymer flooring has advanced well beyond the rigid, industrial looking materials of the past. Designers and facility managers can now choose from a wide variety of colors, patterns, styles and textures that offer endless design possibilities and durable finishes for the entire facility. These enhanced polymer systems provide a cost effective solution specifically designed to outlast and outperform traditional surfaces such as carpet, vinyl tile or sheet goods. Facility expenses associated with the annual maintenance, repair and replacement of these surfaces are completely eliminated.

Polymer flooring provides both aesthetics and durability to dramatically reduce life-cycle costs.Seamless flooring products provide low maintenance options that eliminate the need for regular stripping and waxing traditionally associated with terrazzo and vinyl flooring systems.

Stonhard, the world’s largest manufacturer and installer of polymer flooring systems, offers decorative solutions for every area – from high-traffic corridors, cafeterias, and classrooms to kitchens, laboratories, and locker rooms. Design possibilities are virtually unlimited with the wide array of colors, patterns and details that are available from Stonhard’s extensive product line. Custom colors can be manufactured to match interior design schemes or school colors, and detailed patterns and logos can be installed to give each facility a distinctive look. In addition, the polymer floors can be easily maintained with a simple dust mop and periodic wet mopping.
Next generation polymer floors combine the comfort and character of resilient with the benefits of seamless flooring.
Stonhard’s seamless flooring systems also offer performance characteristics uniquely engineered to prevent moisture failures. This design helps avoid costly delays in new construction and renovation projects, while ensuring indoor air quality once the facility is put into service. By preventing moisture in the floor, Stonhard’s products eliminate the risk of moisture damage and mold intrusion, keeping students, faculty and visitors safe and healthy.
