Fabric Architecture Ltd. – Leading Tensile Fabric
Company in the U.K. Comes to U.S.A. Through Poligon®

PorterCorp of Holland, Michigan and Fabric Architecture Ltd. of the United Kingdom have formed an agreement to manufacture and distribute Tensile Fabric structures in North America. Fabric Architecture has been specializing in the design, engineering, manufacture and installation of tensile fabric structures since 1984. The Company recently won an Award of Excellence by the IFAI at the 2009 International Achievement Awards. With over 5,000 installations throughout the world, they are experienced in both custom design-and-build structures as well as offering a range of pre-designed and pre-engineered Signature Structures. PorterCorp has designed and built over 14,000 Poligon® steel shelters and Parasol™ shade products in North America and has over 40 years of experience in the Unites States. The two companies also specialize in walkways, entrance features, performance spaces, and brise soleil (permanent sun-shading techniques). The new partnership brings the expertise of both organizations core competencies together; Fabric Architecture’s engineering and design expertise in Tensile Fabric Structures and PorterCorp’s steel manufacturing and distribution experience in North America.

Nigel Browne, Fabric Architecture’s Director and Senior Designer, has won the British Design Award and was nominated for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Design Award for his work in the field of tensile design. He is the only RIBA certified presenter in the discipline of tensile structures, giving Continual Professional Development seminars throughout the UK.

Fabric Architecture will design and engineer the structures and pattern and manufacture the tensile membrane; PorterCorp will fabricate the steel and have responsibility for sales and distribution for tensile fabric products in North America. The new product offering will include both standard and custom products branded Fabric Architecture by PorterCorp.
